For those of you looking to come in the night before your day trip, or for those staying for several days, the following is a list of hotels that I have had clients stay at for years. You can call me prior to booking as I know many of the providers personally and can often times get you a better rate. We have negotiated rates and some extra perks for our customers.
Riverwalk Hotel
My boat is moored at West Basin, which is what makes this location so nice. Your room will likely be looking over the marina and in the morning, walk down the gang plank to my boat. All of our fishing cleaning and such is right there. The hotel is 2-3 stars, but for those looking for convenience in the morning and being able to walk to eat in the evenings, this is the place for you.
Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa
Also located right next to Astoria West Basin. A lot nicer option for those looking for something a bit more comfortable. Walk to my boat, dinner in the evenings and utilize the walking path along the river. You might even take advantage of their Spa! The Cannery Pier is enjoyed by many guests.
Holiday Inn Express
Located just east of Astoria West Basin and under the Astoria-Megler Bridge. A national chain that’s clean and comfortable with a heated indoor pool and whirlpool. There is also a fitness center that’s open 24 hours a day.
Warrenton Shilo Inn
Shilo Inn’s are a regional operator with a good reputation. Doogers, a very popular seafood restaurant is right across the street. Also, a ton of shopping is available within walking distance of the hotel. Warrenton is right in the middle of most of the boat launches that I use. You can find out more by visiting their site.
South Jetty Inn – Hammond
A pretty inexpensive option for those just looking for a place to sleep. The Inn is walking distance from the Hammond Boat Basin (I launch my boat there regularly) and right next door to Buoy 9, a good restaurant option. 984 Pacific Drive Hammond, OR 97121 503.861.2500
Holiday Inn Express – Astoria
Crisp, clean hotel located right under the Astoria bridge. Lots to eat in the area and the view isn’t bad either if you chose the riverfront rooms. Find out more by visiting their site.
Comfort Suites – Astoria
Located at the east end of Astoria, the Comfort Suites is comfortable and affordable. The hotel is located right next to the East End mooring basin, which I use at times during the the Salmon and Sturgeon seasons. Safeway is right next door as well which is kind of nice. Comfort Suites is right on the water and next to a haven for sea lions. If you’re a light sleeper I’d probably find another option.
Camp Rilea – Active or Retired Military Only
Camp Rilea is a great deal for active or retired military. The base will actually rent it’s living facilities to those retired or active military visiting the area. The rates are cheap, in fact, dirt cheap, so if you qualify, this might be as good a deal as you’ll ever find on lodging. They also have some RV parking too. Camp Rilea is located just on the outskirts of Warrenton. For more info visit the U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks page.
