We see lots of bent rods on the Columbia River throughout the year. This shot took place recently with a crew of clients that fish with me regularly from a Portland based corporation. I’m behind my 5d Mark iii camera sporting a 16-36L series Canon lens. When fishing is good, clients regularly net fish on my boat and in this case, relationships are at stake between this client and customer!
Fishing on the Columbia River has been really good this year and I look forward to limits changing in the coming days. Rumor has it that there are still plenty of Chinook down in Astoria east of Buoy 10. I know, hard to believe, but there will be lots of fish caught in the middle section of the lower Columbia River when things open up.
