Buoy 10 Mayhem

Yes, it’s a wonderful fishery and this year, it’s particularly wonderful.  I’ve been down in Astoria running charters now for just 4 days, but thought I’d give everyone a report.

I started Tuesday with a “first trip” for the new boat.  I was very glad to spend it with two of my 3 favorite girls and the fishing didn’t disappoint.  We were done catching our fish in short order and spent the rest of the day getting little details on the boat taken care of.

Heading out to fish for salmon on the Columbia River near Astoria

Wednesday was the first client trip and what a great crew of people to start the season with.  Mike, Kara, Austin, Jon and Dan took turns on some really nice, bright Chinooks.  We ended up with a cooler full of Salmon and smiles all around.

Thursday and Friday followed suit with everyone catching their Chinooks and Friday, even some Coho showed up.  I’m excited to see some decent numbers of Coho showing up this early as it means big things for the coming weeks.

Let me know if you’re looking to get out on the Lower Columbia or would like to get on the books for the Klickitat in September or Tillamook in October.

Tight Lines,
